"abstract": "The Wheeler–DeWitt (WDW) constraint hat HΨ=0 yields a stationary “zero‑mode” that dominates minisuperspace quantum cosmology. We test the hypothesis that this zero‑mode can be interpreted as a Majorana‑type mode, which would require (i) a particle–hole (self‑conjugate) symmetry, (ii) a non‑zero topological index, and (iii) spectral isolation with exponential protection under symmetry‑preserving deformations. Using the exactly solvable Hawking–Page wormhole minisuperspace model, we (a) map the hidden U(1,1) symmetry onto a particle‑hole‑like involution and show that it fails the Bogoliubov–de Gennes anti‑unitary condition, (b) compute the Fredholm index of the WDW operator and find it to be zero, in contrast to the non‑zero chiral index of Dirac operators that protect Majorana modes, and (c) demonstrate that E=0 is not an isolated eigenvalue, with the benchmark exponential splitting e^-L/ξ=4.54×10^-5 at L/ξ=10 illustrating the magnitude of protection that is absent. The analysis falsifies the Majorana‑type interpretation and indicates that the Wheeler–DeWitt zero‑mode does not provide a decoherence‑free sector for quantum information processing.",
